Intriguing isn’t it? The title of the article; I remembered a word yesterday - game changer – Ah, just being random. Anyway let’s tackle the non-believers head on. Of course we need them. Yeah, we need accessories all the time. Yes. Yes. Yes! They practically run our lives for us.
The other day a friend of mine was looking to buy an iPhone case cover. She was on her way to the shop to get one for herself. I asked her, ‘Why do you use a case for the phone? The late Steve Jobs, I reckon, wouldn’t have wanted any interference on his beloved iPhone design, lest one puts on a tacky add-on that defeats the purpose of phone’s suaveness. She replied that it was to protect the phone. There you go! This is when people buy accessories. Some kind of people, they just need some kind of protection.
We buy stuff for the primary use of the functionality of the product. What good is a fur coat in the scorching summer heat? If it isn’t functioning the way it is supposed to work, the way we need it to work, then there’s no need for it. This is how people buy accessories. You see, some kind of people, they just need some kind of function.
Lastly, the word Accessory is a misnomer. For they are not supplementary parts or additional products, they are in fact an intrinsic part of the whole. Sure, they might have fallen into the category of a side part due to the emotional appeal of the lot. We can, in most instances, personalize our buy in accessories to suit our own taste and colour preferences. Yet, we mustn’t forget the integral nature of accessories. They aid us thoroughly. This is why people buy accessories. Well, some kind of people, they just need some kind of sense.
